Triumph TR5T Trophy Trail

In September 1973 the 48th ISDT (International Six Days Trial) was held in Dalton, Massachusetts. Of the many motorcycles in this event was the Triumph TR5T Trophy Trail.

Teams from around the world came to compete in this event and cycle enthusiasts came in by the thousands.

The ISDT was the largest and most prestigious off-road motorcycle event in the world. It consisted of a series of trails, tests and checks. The rider was the only one allowed to perform maintenance and repairs on their bike. Each test was timed and the rider was responsible for completing it within a specific time frame to avoid being penalized.

Of the many makes of motorcycles in this event was the Triumph TR5T Trophy Trail. It was a motorcycle with a short production run, from 1973 to 1974. Our bike is one of 1,000 made in 1974. The bike is stock, besides us swapping the tires out for better traction. It feels nimble and is a blast to ride. It offers a decent amount of power to get you up and down the hills with its 500cc twin engine.

We took our Trophy Trail to the woods in the Upstate New York and stumbled upon an old graveyard.
